Local groups pulled together to leave a shared building spick and span as part of an annual clean up.

Nearly thirty members of the various groups that use St John's and Spring Grove Community Association Hall in St John's Road, Isleworth, were rewarded with tea and biscuits as they dusted, polished and tidied.

City workers swapped their smart suits for Lycra suits as they tackled a gruelling bike ride for charity.

19 bankers, doctors and volunteer lifeboat crew battled through a 380km ride from London to Paris to raise money for the Royal National Lifeboat Institution (RNLI), including the Chiswick branch.


Hounslow's Inter Faith group's annual Walk of Peace takes place this Sunday 3 July. Starting at Holy Trinity Church in Hounslow High Street at 12 noon, walkers will then process to the Sikh gurdwara in Alice Way for a vegetarian lunch. Further venues are the Jamia Mosque in Wellington Road at 2.30 and the Brahma Kumaris Centre in Bath Road at 4pm.

As one of London's premier bird spotting sights, throwing bread to the birds at the National Trust property is something that is enjoyed by all ages - however we are apparently doing more harm than good.

An ancient doorway was this week reinstated at an Isleworth church.

The Archdeacon of Middlesex, Stephan Welch, officially opened the new entrance and facilities at All Saints' Church in Church Street, old Isleworth on Sunday.

PETITIONS to save local libraries will be available to sign in local hotspots throughout the borough.
The Hounslow Chronicle is asking residents to sign its petition to protect up to eight local libraries at risk of closure under council cost cutting measures.

Wind in the Willows

Isleworth Actors Company have released tickets for their latest performance.
The group are to be performing a new adaptation of The Wind In The Willows to celebrate the famous book's centenary.
Showings will be at Isleworth Public Hall in South Street at 7.30pm on April 29 & 30 and May 1 - 9.
Previous successful productions by the group include The Tempest, A Taste of Honey, Happy as a Sandbag and Twelfth Night.

The Isleworth Society meets Monday 27th April, 2009, 7.30 p.m. at Isleworth Public Hall, South Street. Highlight of the evening is a truly inspired illustrated talk "Landscape Artist Turner and his local connections" by Catherine Parry-Wingfield, art historian and Chairman of the Friends of Turner's House.

Young superheroes and fairies are invited to Syon Park's Snakes and Ladders for a day of magical fancy dress fun.

On Saturday February 7 children are invited to enter a fancy dress competetion starting at noon and enjoy fantasy puzzles and quizzes from 11am.
