Pupils rocked out in front of their parents and teachers in a West End inspired performance.

Students at Marlborough Primary School on London Road, Isleworth performed a special adapted showing of a Queen musical called Schools Will Rock You for parents, teachers and friends last week.

Natalie Young, a year six teacher and head of production said she was inspired to create the play after watching We Will Rock You.

She said: "We changed it to make it shorter and more relevant to our pupils, for example making references to Isleworth in songs.

"It was great for the pupils and people came up to us afterwards saying they never knew their child could sing or act so well."

Isabelle Wade, in year six, said: "I was really proud as I have never played a main role before, it built up my confidence."

All 92 of the year six groups took part in the first performance the school had held for years, and nearly 400 people came to watch.

Maria Perez-Diaz, whose son Alex was in the show, said: "It was the most sensational and wonderful performance I have ever seen, and I have six kids and with six kids I have seen a few."

We'd like to hear from you.
