Sr Brenda Wallace, headteacher at Gumley House Convent School was thrilled to find that 47 percent of the grades received were A* to B and was particularly proud to hear that five of the nine Sociology students received A* grades.

Theatre arts students inspired by hit TV show Glee have made the live finals of a new reality show talent competition.

Anna King, 17 from Ridgeway Road, Isleworth and Lee Sanders from Ellerdine Road in Hounslow, are two of 20 singers and dancers who make up The Songtimers, a Glee Club Choir who will now perform on Channel Five's new primetime show Don't Stop Believing.

A member of staff from West Middlesex Hospital was fired after assaulting an elderly patient on New Years Day.
