Viking ship man to talk at St John's

Posted by Robert Cumber on Jul 22, 09 04:06 PM in People

Ship.jpgDavid Jones, the furniture maker who made headlines by building a Viking boat in his Isleworth garden in 2005, is giving a talk this Saturday.

Mr Jones built Lille Draken, a 22ft replica of the Gokstad, to aid his research into the sails of the 1066 invasion craft, as seen on the Bayeux tapestry.

He will talk about his latest theories and raise his sails from the rafters at St John the Baptist Church, in St John's Road, Isleworth, from 7.30pm

Tickets cost £5 and are available on the door. All proceeds will go to the church's 100 X £100 appeal.

We'd like to hear from you.
