Police swoop in Isleworth
Vans packed with officers from Surrey police swooped into Isleworth yesterday to execute dawn raids.
The warrants, which also covered addresses in Wokingham and Feltham, led to 12 arrests for burglary and drug-related offences carried out across the county border in Surrey.
They were part of Operation Shield, launched in Surrey last week to tackle offenders who live outside the county.
Tuesday's activity focused on a gang suspected of committing burglaries across north Surrey to steal electronic goods and keys for cars parked outside victims' homes.
Superintendent Charlie Doyle, who led the raids, said: "We want to send a strong message. If we suspect you're committing crime in our county, we will identify you, target you and arrest you regardless of where you live."
A 19-year-old man from Isleworth was arrested on suspicion of burglary.
Everyone picked up during the raids will now be interviewed and the Crown Prosecution Service will advise whether to charge or release them.
