A tea adventure!

Posted by Tracing Tea on Aug 27, 08 03:16 PM in Tracing Tea blog

Ioanna-and-Mike-at-Tiger-Hi.jpgBeing described as 'A tea-mad Isleworth man' is a strange feeling. I am, and so I suppose this is a suitable description, however it does make it hit home what I have just started.

I, Mike Hasler, of Worton Road,(here on the right at Tiger Hill), have just set off on a seven month journey, travelling 15,000km across eighteen countries in three-wheeled auto-rickshaws with a top speed of 31mph.

With a few friends (and the rest of the film crew) I'll be tracing tea's ancient trading routes from Darjeeling, India to London and help produce 'Tracing Tea', an eight-part documentary celebrating the 350th anniversary of tea's introduction to Britain. I'm the 34-year-old sound man.

I'll be keeping everyone at home updated with tales of the journey on this site, along with some of the amazing pictures we've been taking. If you want to know more, take a look at our site www.tracingtea.com.
